The Faculty of Engineering would like to congratulate our students on securing the first position in the final stage of Sunway Construction (SunCon) Case Study Competition held on 22 March 2024 - 6 April 2024 organized by the Institution of Civil Engineering (ICE) UM in collaboration with Sunway Construction.

UPM team that participated in the final stage consist of students from mix Departments who are Yogeindran A/L Nethan (KKA), Ravi Varman A/L Sundrarajan (KMP), Kiroshini A/P Muniandy (KMP) and Pavinth A/L Karnan (KAW). The title they have chosen was Smart Helmet : Intelliguard Protecting Every Step of Your Way. In the preliminary and qualifying round, they have prepared a video on their innovation which they managed to qualify to the final stage. In the final stage held at Sunway Sanctuary, they have to pitch their innovation to panel of experts. The team have prepared a prototype using Arduino modules, Solidworks and Blynk App. They proposed to include multiple sensors and a camera on the helmet to prevent the workers from any accidents.

In the end, they have successfully secured first position and have won a prize money of RM 1000.
