GEOSPATIAL INFORMATION SCIENCE RESEARCH CENTRE (GISRC)
INTRODUCTION
The Geospatial Information Science Research Centre (GISRC) was originally one of the excellence laboratories known as Spatial and Numerical Modelling Laboratory (SNML) at Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA), UPM. SNML was established in 2001 to conduct the latest research focused on the field of Remote Sensing, Geospatial Information Science (GIS), Sensor and Visualization and Numerical Modelling. SNML is a highly productive laboratory, becoming a five-star laboratory in 2010 and 2011 with a Myra score of 124.9% (beyond maximum 100%).
After 12 years of existence of SNML, the name Geospatial Information Science Research Centre was selected as the re-branding of SNML as a new research centre. The establishment of this research centre was officially approved on June 26, 2012 by the UPM Senate. GISRC conducts research in the field of Geospatial Information Science, Remote Sensing and Intelligent Geospatial Systems.

RESEARCH EQUIPMENT
Greenseeker Sensors (NTech/ USA)
The GreenSeeker Hand Held™ is a crop research and consulting tool that provides useful data to determine Normalized Difference Vegetative Index (NDVI) and red to near infrared ratios. These indexes can be used in conjunction with agronomic references to quantify basic nutrient response, crop condition, yield potential, stress, and pest impact.
Total Station (Leica TCR407 R400 Total Station)
To determine distance and angle from the instrument to point to be surveyed.
Spectroradiometer
To measure the integration time rate of the object, reflection rate reflected by the object and light absorption rate of the object.
