Final Evaluation of the AUN/SEED-Net Project Phase 3 and Detailed Planning of Phase 4 Meeting

Wednesday, 19 July 2017- As the project approaching the end of Project Phase 3 in March 2018, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has conduct a final evaluation on the project implementation throughout Phase 3 in order to review the performance of the Phase 3 of the AUN/SEED-Net Project and to confirm the relevance, necessity, and expectation for the Phase 4.  

ASEAN University Network/Southeast Asia Engineering Education Development Network (AUN/SEED-Net) has been established to promote human resource development in engineering for sustainable socio-economic development of the ASEAN region. The network consists of 26 member institutions in ASEAN with assistance from 14 Japanese supporting universities. The project now is in the phase three with the vision Southeast Asia and Japan are developed sustainably through development of innovative and highly skilled human resources in engineering field.

The evaluation has been conducted by JICA-contracted third party evaluators through multiple methodologies such as questionnaire, interviews, focus group discussions, etc.

Meeting located at meeting room, level 7, Administration Block, Faculty of Engineering, UPM on 12:00 pm were attended by Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Jaafar, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Robiah Yunus, Dean School of Graduate Studies, Assoc. Prof .Dr Tang Sai Hong Deputy Dean ( Intetrnational and Mobility)School of graduate Studies, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nawal Aswan Abdul Jalil, Head of Mechanical and manufacturing Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khairol Anuar Mohd Ariffin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. B. T. Hang Tuah Baharudin, Dr. Siti Azfanizam Ahmad Ms. Normalina Jamaluddin and Ms Nurhana Mohmad Rouyan. The attendees from From JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net were Ms. Ishitobi, Japanese Evaluator, Ms. Miura, from JICA Headquarter, Mr. Idawate, Unit Chief at AUN/SEED-Net, Mr. Krit, Country officer (Malaysia) at AUN/SEED-Net and Ms. Salisa, Program Officer in charge of UPM at AUN/SEED-Net

Through review, discussion and suggestion, both parties get beneficial and fruitful discussion to look forward to Phase 4 of the project. Meeting ended by 4:00 pm as the members of AUN/SEED-Net interested to visit Innohub at Putra Science Park. Session ended by photograph session by the lake.
