Welcome to the graduate studies and research website of the Engineering Faculty, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Currently there are more than 1789 graduate students registered under the graduate programs with thesis or graduate programs without thesis offered by the 8 departments of the faculty. The graduate programs with thesis (PhD and Master) are targeted for students who are interested in research work in various field of study and wish to continue their career as researchers or academics. Students who enroll in these programs are required to take advance courses and also produce a thesis at the end of their study period.

The Master programs without thesis are targeted for students that have long left the university or working professionals who wish to upgrade their knowledge by taking advance professional skill courses without involvement in research. Students who enroll in these programs are required to take advance courses that have been specified and also produce a project paper at the end of their study period.

The graduate programs are very well support by many adequately equipped research laboratories, computer facilities, and highly qualified faculty members. Many of the research carried out is endowed with research grants either from the industries or the government ministries. From these research works the faculty have received many international and national research awards, produced patents of commercial able products and software copyrights, and publications in refereed journals.

Prospective students may also communicate with faculty members for enquiries on research projects or graduate research assistantship (GRA) for those who may need financial aid. Scholarships are also available for Malaysian applicants in various field of research. Currently the faculty has more than 200 on-going projects.
