Welcome to the Webpage of Quality Assurance Unit. The creation of this webpage is one of the efforts to give information about the current implementation and development of Quality Management System (QMS) at the Faculty of Engineering, UPM.

Quality Management System in this Faculty is called QMS Putra3Q which is based on  three main aspects as follows:

i.     Quality Management
ii.    Quality Improvement
iii.   Quality Assurance

The quality management aspect involves the commitment and approach of management staff at all levels within the Faculty. It is translated through the quality manuals and procedures that assure the quality control and assessment at every level of input, process and output. With efficient management, being sensitive to achieve consistent outputs and meeting the customers’ expectation, the aspect of quality improvement is highly emphasized. It is carried out by objectively evaluating the target achievement of strategic plan, performance indication achievement, customer complaints and customer satisfaction index based on the concept of improvement and continuous quality enhancement.

Besides that, benchmarking is performed so that improvement in quality process complies with the International Standards. This benchmarking is to assure the Faculty of Engineering, UPM will be at the same level with Faculty of Engineering at world prestigious universities. This will increase the reputation of Malaysia at international level and it is in line with the global development and challenges to produce the professionals who will play leading roles towards the success of the country. With comprehensive management approach, it is hoped that Faculty’s vision to become a leading institution for the advancement of engineering in the world can be achievable. To achieve  this vision, Faculty has set the following missions:

• To develop the art and science of engineering for the well-being of mankind
• To educate engineers to high standard of scientific, managerial and professional competence in harmony with the environment
• To share our knowledge and skills with the communities throughout the world.
