The Selangor State Government has organized the Research and Development (R&D) Competition of 2019 from 10 to 13 October 2019 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. The competition is intended to provide opportunities for all levels with creative and innovative ideas to produce research to find solutions and innovations that can benefit the community. This competition was won by 3rd place by Prof. Associate Dr Rosnah Shamsudin for the food and beverage cluster for a project titled "VERSMAP Growing Crop Technology to Increase Production of Azolla Pinnata as a Animal Food Source" from the Department of Process & Food Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UPM. While 5th place in the same cluster was won by Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Nazli Naim for the project entitled "Development of fried potato vending machines in health and modern lifestyle" also from the Department of Process & Food Engineering.
